I do sometimes assign one barge to multiple factories if they are low throughput, such as Utility ones.ĪH that is hopefully the missing link there. I have personally not yet tried to deliver directly to my carrier from an island, instead I've just always assigned the vast majority of my barges to the warehouses, and 1 or 2 individual barges to each factory. You just have to make sure that what you want is available on that island, either by producing it there (click on the island on the logistics map, click on the item you want on the new screen, enter order), or by connecting the islands in a chain up to your carrier, making sure that every island along the way has at least one barge to carry on the load. I think the orders you put up from a warehouse also count for islands. When you say "ordered the right things", are you saying I need to order what the island produced to be delivered to my carrier? How do I do that? It seems I can only order items from the warehouse, not from individual islands If that doesn't work, try additionally linking the barge to your carrier. Assuming you've ordered the right things it will deliver straight to your carrier. Originally posted by Peridot:Link the island to your carrier, then link the barge to the island. I myself tend to have one barge exclusively focused on transporting my chassis to the warehouse and several dedicated to shipping from the warehouse to the carrier. Its a shame that the AI doesn't seem to have a care for supply lines so for now its just a player-side hassle that such tactics would really matter.Īs a note, Barges linked to building specifically work on shipping 'from' that location, to whatever location they are linked to presuming its a warehouse or a requesting carrier, so you can divide up your barges in importance of said supply made at different factories. The unofficial subreddit about the carrier command 2 video game from Microprose. Carrier Command 2 is the real-time strategy game that puts you in command of a futuristic carrier capable of deploying a vast array of aircraft and amphibious units. Theres no doubt there'd be simple ways to achieve a easier system to work with, but I think the point of this one is so that you can knock out supply lines. The carrier can only have one island linked to it at any one point of time, which is why warehouses are used~ They're centerpoints for supplies to be generally delivered so you don't have to change up your supply lines every time you need something new. Then you have the island produce the resources you want, and make sure you set the carrier's logistics to be requesting said materials. You cannot load items back onto an island, or take items off the carrier.Ĭlicking and dragging a line back from the carrier to an island can create a loop that the barge will follow - visiting each island in turn and loading additional cargo. To get a island that isn't a warehouse to deliver directly to your carrier you have to have that island linked to your carrier with a barge attached to that island that is idle. The barge will then travel to the island, pick up any items the island has that are requisitioned by the carrier, and then follow its waypoint to either another island (to pick up more goods) or to the carrier (to unload its cargo). Click and drag from the carrier back to the island to create a loop the barge will run.Click and drag from that same island to the carrier to complete the supply route.Click and drag, starting at the barge, and ending at an island containing the materials you require.Order the items you require on the STOCK tab.drag a line from that new pickup waypoint to another island. drag a line from the barge to an island (perhaps the warehouse island).
